woo!

woo!

went out to the tree farm today and got a tree! so far, the cats have not climbed it, which i take as a good sign *knock on wood*
i love taking out my ornaments. i forget what i actually have each year, and i really forget what i buy at clearance time, so it’s like opening a whole new package! woo!
this week i will finally be able to get to my cchristmas movie watching. i’ve been busy with a whole boatload of crap for the past three weeks, it seems. come monday, i think i’ll finally be able to just sit down and relax for a bit. then next weekend, cookies!! i might have to make a batch of eggnog snickerdoodles to tide me over until then…

from the couch

from the couch

i’m doing couch to 5k, and i’m on week five:
warmup
run 1/2 mile
walk 1/4 mile
run 1/2 mile
walk 1/4 mile
run 1/2 mile
i did this last week, and this week i’m doing it again since i’m not quite ready to leave it. so i sped it up and shaved 2 minutes off my half mile run (going from a 16-minute mile to a 12-minute mile).
so far, c25k has been relatively good at the intervals you change your running time. but i’m not looking forward to week seven. week six is this:
run 1/2 mile
walk 1/4 mile
run 3/4 mile
walk 1/4 mile
run 1/2 mile
a reasonable interval after what i’m doing. but the week after that?  RUN 2.5 MILES. WHAT??? how do we go from 1.75 miles with walking intervals to 2.5 miles nonstop??  i think i might need to stick in a 6.3 and 6.7 in there.

nano

nano

i was really excited for the ending of my nano this year. i was really excited for it in general. i always thought the 12 dancing princesses was such an underappreciated fairy tale, and one that was really kind of gruesome (well, most of them are, but they’ve been disney-fied).
anyway, here it is if you want to read it. it’s a word doc. i’m sure there are logistical errors, spelling errors, grammar errors, but when you’re typing at a million words a minute to get your word count in, you don’t really thing about it that much. 🙂 maybe if it’s decent, i’ll self-publish and become a millionaire like the gal from austin. what a racket!
