ralf the doof

ralf the doof

ralf looks very dignified when he’s not moving. see him sitting in a chair, and it’s like he’s a british gentleman. but get him on the move, and he’s the weirdest cat i’ve ever met.
he’s almost a dog.

that fall, a new interloper. enter ralf.
a person i worked with had to get rid of ralf because he is a very derpy cat. he would sleep on their baby and basically took over the house. i did not want to see a cat be shoved out into the wild, or snuffed into nothingness (that was the probable route), so i volunteered to take him.
nate was really hesitant. now nate wouldn’t dream of getting rid of ralf.
chasey, on the other hand, wishes ralf dead. she and sophie are BFFs compared to her and ralf.17

deck time!

deck time!

after the deck went on the house in st. joe, i let the cats out on it. it was 14′ in the air, so i didn’t worry about them jumping off (no stairs, either). chasey was fine with all four feet on the deck, but sophie more than once jumped off.
i was sitting on the deck, reading a book, and the cats were out hanging out. all of a sudden i heard a scrabble of claws on wood. i whipped around just in time to see sophie lose purchase and start the 14’+ descent to the ground.
great. vet, here we come.
i ran downstairs to get her, and she was just sitting there. probably stunned. she limped for a couple hours, but then she was fine.
what a doof.15

tub time

tub time

sophie has ALWAYS had a fascination with the tub. to this day, when anyone’s in the shower and she’s able to get in the bathroom, she will sit on the edge of the tub until you’re done, then hop in once the water’s off. she’ll sit in the leftover water, and she’s also been known to chase her tail in circles in the tub. she doesn’t do this anywhere else in the house, just the tub.
what a weirdo.13
